ABOUT a month ago I visited the women's toilets in Front Street, Acomb. There were no lights so they were in total darkness.
A drunken man came in shouting abuse and gave me a fright because it was so dark. This would be even more frightening for the elderly, children or disabled. I rang the council to report it with but got no response. After I wrote to the council the light bulbs were replaced.
A week later the toilets were in darkness again, and there was no water with which to wash. Recently I visited the West Country where the toilets were free and very clean.
York has to improve the toilets, not only in Acomb, but for tourists and residents too.
