While a free week in the North League schedule left City of York Ladies Hockey Club first squad without a game, York Ladies II scored a 9-0 home win over Zeneca (Huddersfield) in Yorkshire League division two.
The game was so one-sided that York goalkeeper Lynne Gowland was never called on to touch the ball. York were only two ahead at half-time but scored regularly after the break. Rachel Messias and Ros Harwood completed hat-tricks, with Kate Longbotham (2) and Sarah Greaves also scoring.
In division six, City of York Ladies III lost 3-1 at Ben Rhydding IV, Sara Hughes scoring York's goal.
In division seven a very promising young City of York Ladies IV continued their good run with a 3-0 home win against Adel IV, Jessica Barnes (2) and Denise Jackson scoring the goals.
