ROY Orbison fans in York have the chance to appear in a documentary being filmed tonight.

Impersonator Dave Wolf, 46, from Nether Poppleton, is performing at the Red Lion Motel, Boroughbridge Road, for a BBC programme about family life.

He is keen to see fans of Roy Orbison in the audience for the show, which is being screened later in the year.

Mr Wolf said he was approached by the documentary makers after appearing on BBC's Kilroy earlier this year.

He said: "They picked up on my bizarre hobby of being a Roy Orbison impersonator, and they were interested in the tribute song I have written called Pretty Woman blues.

"I also know the man who wrote Penny Arcade for Roy Orbison, Sammy King, and he is going to be on the show.

"I think it's a six-part programme about different aspects of the family."

The live music show will start at 7.30pm and there will be no entrance fee.
