YORK Ladies gained revenge on the only team to beat them last season when they defeated Selby 98-68.
York picked up eight points from the match to get their Yorkshire League campaign off to an excellent start.
Carol Instone's rink were always in full control at York and had an overwhelming 37-11 victory. In the other rink Sue Chilton trailed from start to finish in a close game before going down 24-20.
At Selby, Melanie Brooke took the honours against her old club with her rink leading throughout and winning 20-14.
Linda Harrison's rink joined in the victory celebrations with another close encounter, narrowly winning 21-19.
New Earswick Ladies were faced with a tough task against a strong Ryedale team but came out on top 86-77.
Marjorie Wood and Brenda Keller's rinks won comfortably at home, 29-14 and 27-12 respectively, though away Margaret Moss narrowly lost 20-15 and Gill Clark was defeated 31-15. New Earswick picked up six points to Ryedale's four.
