Pickering Town took a further step up the Northern Counties East League premier division table win a 1-0 win at high-flying Brigg Town.
The crucial goal came in the 43rd minute when Matty Morton netted from a Dean McAuley cross.
Brigg, third behind leaders Selby in the table, rested several players ahead of their FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at Boston United and the Pikes took full advantage.
Pickering were largely in control, hitting the woodwork three times and took their points tally to 18 from seven games - seven points adrift of Selby, who they meet at the Recreation Ground on Saturday. The Robins have played five more games than Pickering.
