RYEDALE Voluntary Action is challenging readers to mark Make A Difference Day on Saturday. This highlights how people can make a positive difference to their community.
Here are three ways to help others:
1 Volunteer for Ryedale Car Scheme helping people with transport problems to get out and about. You decide the times you carry out journeys and your costs are covered.
2 Befriend someone who is ill, disabled or lonely. Do you have the time to have a coffee and a chat?
3 Tell your family and friends that Ryedale Voluntary Action has hundreds of vacancies for volunteers. Explain that volunteering helps to improve job prospects, gives the retired a new role and extends social horizons.
Will you make a difference? Contact Ryedale Voluntary Action on 01653 600120 to find out more.
