THE dangers of drink-driving and speed are highlighted in a special drama production for soldiers at a York barracks.
Never Saw The Day - a production by The Walking Forward Theatre Company was shown to soldiers at Imphal Barracks as part of a safety initiative funded by the Army.
It has been shown to hundreds of soldiers across the country to bring home the dangers of driving under the influence of drink or drugs and speeding.
"The people in the barracks are a cross-section of the community and are no better or worse as regards road accidents," said the Master Driver of the Headquarters 2nd Division, Warrant Officer Mark Harney.
"The combination of the deterioration in weather conditions and the build-up to the Christmas period makes this an ideal time to bring this production to York.
"The aim is to highlight these important road safety issues in a direct and innovative way." The production has already been shown to soldiers at Catterick Garrison and moves from York to the Defence School of Transport at Leconfield, East Yorkshire.
