JOHN Smith's Bitter Cup holders Severus WMC were bundled out of this year's competition by a last minute winner from Harrison for fourth division foes Hemingbrough.

Severus looked to be cruising into the next round after goals from Woodward, Moss and Lake to a solitary strike from Stephenson gave them a 3-1 lead on the hour.

Ward then pulled a goal back and in a stirring finish Warner equalised after 89 minutes before Harrison's winning lob.

Division six outfit Burton Stone pushed top-flight Volunteers all the way but the division one side's passing and finishing made the difference as they won 7-3, Joe Gaughan notching a hat-trick.

Hounds scraped through their tie against Pocklington. The sides were tied at 1-1 at 90 minutes and 2-2 after extra time. Rhodes and Cygan were the Hounds' scorers, Murr and Eccles for Pocklington. The tie was finally settled 7-6 on penalties.

Division five side Inland Revenue battled hard against their second division opponents but goals from Craggs and Stuttard saw Derwent United through 2-0.

Thorpe United crushed Shipton 6-0 with Singleton hitting four.

After a goalless first period Haxby Lions found their form in the second half with goals from Sullivan, Ferguson, Drummond and Machen securing a 4-1 win.

Bonner scored four as Burnholme hit six but it took extra time before they saw off the challenge of The Mount 6-3.

In the only first division fixture in the John Smith's League, Nestl Rowntree opened a four-point lead with a crushing 8-0 win at Zafs with hat tricks from Wain and Simpson and one apiece from Kehoe and Osbourne.

Beeswing hit five at home to BH Colts in division three but were on the receiving end as Rank (4), Tolworthy (3), Constable and Small hit one apiece in BH Colts' 9-5 win.

In division four Black Bull's freescoring strikers Lindsey and Scott once again hit hat-tricks and they were joined by Gary Scott who also hit three as they thumped Linton on Ouse 11-1 to move into second place.

Jonathan Sutton starred with five goals as Fulford WMC recorded their first league win over Keystones 6-1.
