A WOMAN suffered serious head injuries in a three-car crash on the A19 north of York.
Phyllis Westwood, 67, of Shipton-by-Beningbrough, was in York District Hospital today, where her condition was described as "stable and comfortable".
She was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa which was in collision with a white Vauxhall Astra on the A19 close to the Little Chef at Shipton at 9.25pm yesterday.
The driver of the Astra, Alan Hunton, 19, of Whenby, near York, and his passenger, James Townend, 15, of Easingwold, were both taken to York District Hospital with cuts and other injuries.
