A YORK postman was quarantined in his van for three hours after he found flour in two post boxes covering letters.
Paul Maher was making a collection in Selby when he noticed white powder on and in two post boxes.
"It was all over the place. I've been a postman for 35 years and never had anything like this happen," he said.
Mr Maher returned to York's Leeman Road sorting office yesterday and was kept in his van in isolation away from the building until police officers could confirm the powder was harmless.
A York police spokesman said: "Children were seen throwing flour near the area of the Selby post box. It has been sealed and this incident was extremely low-risk."
