SCARBOROUGH Football Club's owner - and lone director - Darrell Littlewood looks as though he is on the verge of offloading the club.

He took over the struggling club in April and teamed up with National Lottery winner Mick Taylor in what was hoped to be a new era for Boro.

Now it is thought there are two groups talking to the club about a possible takeover, one based in Manchester and the other in Yorkshire.

He said: "I took over in harness with Mick Taylor and I needed his backing from the start, but over the months he has decided to put his interests elsewhere and that has left me out on a limb.

"That is why I am finding it so tough in these difficult times.

"I am looking at completely transferring all my shareholding and that of Mick Taylor to new people to give the club a fresh start," said Littlewood.

"Failing that I am left with very little option and I realise the club is in a very serious situation.

"I don't want to say too much about the meetings I have had this week, but what I would say is that it is the best way forward for the club. These are very tense times for me and the club."
