A MAN was recovering in hospital today after being attacked by would-be robbers in the centre of York.
The victim was left battered and bleeding after he was hit about the head by three men who confronted him in Micklegate just before 11pm last night.
Police said the men had tried to rob him but left the scene empty-handed. Two men were later arrested in Nessgate and another man was arrested in Fishergate. Today they remained in custody at York police station.
