AS I write, 19 football managers already have left the clubs they began this season with. York City fans seek to maintain that trend by wanting Terry Dolan's dismissal.

Why are team managers always the fall guys?

I moved to York six years ago during which time Alan Little, Neil Thompson and now Dolan have each been blamed by Bootham Crescent supporters for persistent poor results.

I find it hard to believe that all three are bad managers.

If they are, then where does that leave the judgement of chairman Douglas Craig? It was Craig and his board who appointed them.

Even Sir Alex Ferguson, Gerard Houllier, David O'Leary or Arsene Wenger would struggle to make anything of an unambitious, penny-pinching club like York City.
