DAWN Exton's sparkling 21 darts was the turning point in Cygnet 'A' team's 6-3 York John Smith's Ladies League victory over Golden Slipper.

Tracey Farmeary closed in 22 as Phoenix 'B' produced an excellent team performance against Slip, whose Claire Robinson took their only point.

Diane Moreland and Margaret Britten secured Phoenix 'A's victory over Ox, who were best served by Sandra Bruce.

Dringhouses captain Mags Bell included two tons in the deciding game, with Carol Brayshaw, against Clifton.

Severus closed the gap at the top of division two with a good 6-3 win over Brown Cow, which saw high scoring from Carol Robson (121, 100) and Linda Davies (140, 120).

Leaders Britannia 'A' shot into a 3-0 lead through Maggie Jenkinson, Sally Swales and Kath Williams, but Holgate WMC hit back to win the match with Max Smith and Babs Potter.

Britannia 'B' suffered a 5-4 defeat against Clifton despite good scoring from Rose Foakes. Ruth Norman partnered Pat Nelson to seal the result.

Val Pinder and Paula Rose settled Burton WMC's 5-4 win at Leeman 'B', whereas Leeman 'A', with Margaret Yeomans to the fore, slipped into a 3-0 lead at Cygnet, who then levelled through Chris Waddington. But Leeman won all the pairs.

Division three leaders Jubilee were snookered 6-3 by Cue Ball despite three tons by Jeanette Whittaker.

Shepherd 'B' won by the skin of their teeth to go second. Their match against Woolpack stood at 3-3 going into the pairs. Kath Powell and Julie McKie gave 'Pack' the edge but Heather Green and Diane Clasper took it to the decider won by Viv Pringle and Pauline Dale.

Superb scoring by Suzy Shaw, Stella Sear and Lucy Harris gave Woodman the upper hand against Tang Hall WMC.

Cygnet 'A' team's 7-2 York John Smith's Mixed League win over Leeman 'A' included a splendid 16-dart game by Kevin Walton.

Cygnet 'C' had an excellent 18 from John Miller and 21 by John Clemit, but Huntington Sports took the match 6-3.

A good pair game from John Smith-Karen Richardson supported 20 darts from Pete Leake in Tap's defeat of Bumper, whose only win came from Dave O'Hara.

Bay Horse, Murton, had Peter Swift-Jo Brown clinching a 5-4 result at Vaults 'B' and Vaults 'A' also lost the decider to Leeman 'B' team's Keith Wright-Doreen Lightfoot. The men's and women's individual competitions will be held at Hospital Social Club on Sunday (8pm).

The outstanding York White Rose Ladies League performance was a tremendous 140, 120 for 14 darts from Moira Atkinson, which won the 4-3 decider for Fulford Conservatives against Railway Institute.

It was a determined effort by the Fulford side, who were 3-0 down. Michelle Harrison broke the ice, Liz Jackson added then Jackie Barnett put them level with a gallant 22 darts against Denise Fahey, who included 100,133.

Beryl Glover clinched Fulfordgate's win against Crescent but Sun extended their division one lead by beating Lord Collingwood 6-1, closed by Julie Scattergood.

New York beat Vaults to keep in touch, with Janet Ellis, Rose and Gillian Grimes winning.

Glennis Ellis threw 23 darts in Bowling Club's 6-1 thus adding to Crystal Palace's woes at the foot of division two.

Ann Robinson closed Winning Post's 5-2 victory over Clarence with a 74 check.

Tap tipped the scales over Nags Head with Sylvia Quinn making it three apiece and Rose Ratcliffe taking the decider, while Yvonne Ryder sealed victory for Coach at Six Bells.

Huntington lost 4-3 to Yearsley and are joined at the top of division three by King William, who won all but the team game at Alice Hawthorn.

Vikki Le-Monnier put Tankard at 3-3 with Lord Nelson but the latter had Julie Child checking 77 to clinch the result.

Tramways' progress was blocked by Red Lion, Knapton, who had Emma Swallow in form.
