Post Office and Malton Bacon Factory continue to set the pace in division one of Leeper Hare York and District League, with Osbaldwick, South Bank, Thorpe United and St John's College keeping up the pressure on the leading two, writes Colin Atkinson.

Malton Bacon Factory overcame a spirited challenge from Wigginton Black Horse to win 4-2.

The Factorymen were two up in the first ten minutes when Nigel Allen opened the scoring in the fifth minute and Jamie Parker netted from the penalty spot three minutes later.

Black Horse equalised before half-time with goals from Steve Hudson and Simon Slater.

Bacon Factory regained the lead on seventy minutes when Simon Collins netted the first of his two goals which separated the sides.

Post Office, 3-0 winners against Norwich Union at York University, scored all the goals in the first half hour.

Keith Stamp netted in the tenth minute with a far post header. Adrian Cook profited from good work by Mick O'Donnell by driving the second low into the corner of the net and O'Donnell provided the third for Jamie Bonariou, who finished the move with an unstoppable shot.

Norwich Union raised their game in the second half but the Post Office defence denied them.

Osbaldwick moved into third place after a 6-2 win away to Civil Service. Danny Leach (3), James Luck, Andrew Triffitt and Neil Price netted for Osbaldwick and Joe Micheli got both the Civil Service goals.

St John's College won 3-0 at Haxby to stay on the fringe of the promotion race, while Thorpe United and South Bank were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Mark Belleh, Simon Kehoe, Glen Pallister and Nick Shaw scoring for South Bank.
