EASINGWOLD School's Laura Birkinshaw (pictured right) swept to a medal double at Macclesfield.
The 12-year-old from Clifton Moor, who was featured in last week's Schools Sport, captured the gold medal after beating Emma Wooley of Staffordshire 15-5 in the final of the English Schools' Badminton Association event.
She then teamed up with Leeds' Danielle Whittaker, aged 11, to finish runners-up in the doubles and collect a silver medal.
Laura's golden success has now promoted her to the premiership division of the ESBA competition calendar for the rest of this season.
