THE new Save City website has got fingers clicking around the world within days of its launch.

The official York City Supporters' Trust campaign web site at www.saveyork.co.uk provides fans, businesses and the wider football world to offer their support and ideas.

Working party member Mike Brown, of York-based Triangle Multimedia, who developed the site said: "Within minutes of launch we have received many offers of support and practical help from all over the world.

"We hope the site will continue to raise the profile of our cause."

The site includes a sophisticated e-broadcast system designed to streamline campaign activity and keep supporters informed of the latest developments.

Donations to the Save City fighting fund can also be pledged online.The York City Supporters' Trust, which will be launched on Friday, is hoping to raise funds from banner advertisements on the site.

Businesses are encouraged to show their support by booking an advertisement using an online booking form. Triangle Multimedia is offering local businesses a free banner design.

* London and South Branch of the City Supporters' club are organising a fundraising football tournament on Sunday, February 24, at London's famous Hackney Marshes.

Some 16 teams will be participating, including supporters' teams representing League clubs from across the country with the proceeds going towards the Save City fund.

Saturday's FA Cup conquerers, Fulham, have pledged to take part while City's Internet team, the Yorkie Bars, will also be making the journey south.
