A TECHNOLOGY firm behind a revolutionary concept in email tracking and security has chosen York for the headquarters of its UK sales operation, it was announced today. It aims to generate up to 30 new jobs over the next two years.

Cambridge-based DeltaSeal Software whose product is designed to transform the working lives of solicitors and law firms, has begun marketing to the UK legal profession from an office at Norman Court in Grape Lane.

For the past two years, the firm has been devising and testing SoliciTrack, software which gives law firms a secure message delivery and email tracking capability associated with sending traditional registered post.

It can be used to create emails and attachments that can be sent as registered, recorded, password-protected and time-sensitive documents.

Lee Harris, sales and marketing director of DeltaSeal said: "York is often referred to as 'the Cambridge of the North' thanks to its continued investment in attracting science and technology firms.

"The city provides an ideal base for the launch of our UK sales and marketing operation."

The firm's SoliciTrack system can also notify the sender when an email message is first read and report on the actions of the recipient. It can also prevent information sent from being forwarded to unknown recipients.

Mr Harris said: "Those working in the legal profession need to distribute highly important business documents and confidential information every day. Despite the risks often associated with email, digital correspondence has become part of day-to-day working practice. We're confident that SoliciTrack brings a new level of email security, by allowing companies to track digital information and keep ultimate control - even after messages have been despatched and viewed externally."
