CITY midfielder Christian Fox endured another weekend of inactivity and frustration despite the loan deal which has seen him join Larne in Northern Ireland.

Fox has joined the Smirnoff Irish League First Division outfit until the end of the season in a bid to regain his match sharpness.

Unfortunately for Fox his time with Larne has not got off to the greatest of starts.

His flight to Northern Ireland last Saturday was delayed by two hours. Then, having finally made it across the Irish Sea, further frustration followed when Larne's match with Lisburn Distillery was called off just an hour before kick-off.

Fox would have been hoping for more luck this afternoon when Larne were due to face Bangor.

FORMER York City junior Adam Russell has joined brother Matthew, the former Scarborough and Halifax defender, at UniBond Premier Division outfit Frickley Athletic.

The Russell brothers were previously at Pickering Town, playing in the same side just once before their step up the non-league pyramid.

Earlier this season Adam was plying his trade with League of Wales outfit Bangor after being released by City at the end of last season.

EX-CITY hit-man Barry Conlon could be out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in Darlington's 0-0 draw with Leyton Orient.

It is feared Conlon, who has scored seven goals for the Quakers since leaving City last summer, has torn a cartilage and will require surgery.

Canny City supporters grabbed a healthy lead in the annual David Longhurst memorial Sports Quiz.

The City contingent travelled the A64 to take on north Yokshire neighbours Scarborough, whom they toppled 193 to 175. The second leg is to be held at York on March 21.
