I CAN do without the crocodile tears from Barry Swallow (Evening Press, January 22).

Quite frankly all the York City fans I have spoken to find it particularly nauseating and personally I find his behaviour even more appalling than that of chairman Douglas Craig.

Most City fans have always known Craig was not to be trusted with the future of our club but, naively perhaps, I did not believe that a hero of my youth could possibly intend to use York City for his own personal gain. It would seem that I was wrong.

'Millennium Hero' to absolute zero in two years takes some doing but Swallow has achieved it with ease.

I may of course be doing Swallow a disservice and if so I look forward to hearing that he intends to donate his estimated several hundred thousand pounds profit to the Save City campaign.

I am sure we are all aware Swallow's feather their nests in the springtime and tend to have flown away by autumn.

I suspect this particular Swallow will be long gone by the start of next season, whether City still exist or not. I hope he can live with himself.
