A FIERCE derby clash between two of North Yorkshire's top football teams has been postponed again - after an electricity cable was severed.
The groundsman at Selby Town's Flaxley Road stadium accidentally cut the floodlights' power line prior to last night's much-anticipated game against Pickering Town.
The first match was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Robins' manager Bob Lyon said the damaged cable would cost £500 to put right.
"This is just the icing on the cake." he said.
"We're desperate for the end of the season.
"There is now a big hole on the edge of the pitch. Our groundsman apparently suffered slight burns - it could have been quite dangerous."
Pickering are currently third in the Northern Counties East League, while Selby are placed seventh.
