POCKLINGTON and Selby will have to put the thrills of sevens and tour rugby behind them when they return to Yorkshire One rugby at Percy Road tomorrow.

Pocklington, now almost certain for the drop, spent the Easter break hosting their ever-popular sevens tournament, while a 40-strong party from Selby only returned from a week-long jaunt to Malta in the early hours of Tuesday.

However, with the serious business of league points up for grabs, minds will have to be quickly switched on when the two clash in the return fixture.

But Pocklington will hope they can repeat the 47-0 score-line they racked up in the second round of the John Smith's Good Friday Sevens over Selby.

The Percy Road club will welcome Rob Jackson and Andy Kirby back to the wing and scrum-half respectively but while the pair will add their vast experience, the club's youngsters will continue to get their chance.

Selby, whose fantastic run of 15 points from a possible 18 kicked-off with a 40-5 demolition of Pocklington just before Christmas, will hope to name their side from full strength after their key players managed to come through the trip to Malta unscathed.

Former Pocklington coach Gary Pearce maybe on the verge of the Yorkshire One title with Hull, but York will look to ensure that the champagne is kept on ice for another week.

Hull, leaders for a long stretch of the season, now need just one more victory from their final three fixtures to leave their closest rivals, Yarnbury, needing maximum points from the remaining five games to finish level.

However, Hull's much superior points advantage means Yarnbury face an uphill battle.

But York will attempt to do the Leeds side a favour by toppling the runaway leaders at Clifton Park tomorrow.

And Andy Gair's men will not be overawed having been unlucky losers 13-11 when they played at Hull in December and seen them suffer a shock defeat against Scarborough on Saturday.

York make just one change from the team that beat Beverley a fortnight ago with lock Matt Halifax in for the unavailable Brad Macdonald.

York Railway Institute face a mountainous task when they welcome Keighley to New Lane.

With the fear of relegation still hanging over the club, the Railwaymen need as many points as they can, but Keighley will prove no easy task.

A victory over second-placed Dinnington showed what the Bradford side are capable of when they are in the mood, but RI are no pushovers on their own ground - as Ilkley found to their cost on Saturday.

Malton and Norton make the trip to lowly Barnsley needing to secure a win to maintain their promotion chase. Barnsley equally will be anxious to take the spoils to stave off relegation fears.

Malton should welcome back prop forward Tom Eddy and scrum half Jon Newsome to bolster their chances but have a slight fitness doubt over three-quarter Tim Chapman, who left the field early on Saturday with a hamstring problem.

Once again selection will be delayed until Thursday but a full strength side should be available.

Coach Ralph Zoing has opted to ring the changes for Harrogate's penultimate National Two match of the season away at Preston Grasshoppers.

A dislocated shoulder has ruled Kiwi wing Jeremy Marr out for the rest of the season so Mark Farrar, the former Otley player, will start and there is a change on the other wing with centre Jamie Barker moving out and swapping places with Graeme Sarjeant.

With line out king Peter Taylor also set to finish the campaign in the treatment room with an ankle injury, John Dudley comes into the second row.

The front row will see Scott Wilson and Iain Salkeld drop to the bench with Rob Wilson and Mark Erven stepping up. Oliver Cook also gets the nod for the No8 shirt with Richard Wade on the bench.
