A MAN accused of murdering a South Korean student whose body was found in a suitcase dumped near York has appeared in court charged with the killing of another woman.

Kyu Soo Kim, 30, of Eagle Street, Holborn, central London, appeared at the Old Bailey in London yesterday charged with the murder of South Korean student In Hea Song, 22, who visited York shortly before she vanished in December last year.

The body of Miss Song, a student at London Guildhall University, was found on March 15 hidden in what police have described as "a disused, sealed, refuse cupboard" at the house where she had stayed in Augusta Street, Poplar, east London.

She had been filmed by CCTV at Victoria coach station in London before she boarded a coach bound for York on November 16. Police said she had spent ten hours in York the following day before getting back on a coach bound for London.

In January, Kim was charged with the murder of Hyo Jung Jin, 21, who had been a student at Lyon University in France.

Her body was found bound and gagged in a suitcase dumped in a country lane at Askham Richard, near York, on November 18.

Post mortem examinations have revealed both women died from suffocation.

Kim, a student, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey in London on May 7 for a plea and directions hearing and is set to stand trial at the court on September 30.
