York City chief Terry Dolan faces a selection poser ahead of tomorrow's final game of the season at promotion-seeking Scunthorpe United.

After Tuesday night's 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers, the City boss must have been tempted to stick with the same team.

But goalkeeper Alan Fettis is out bringing a recall for Russ Howarth with youngster John Collinson on the bench.

Teenage defender Stuart Wise also returns and will be pushing for a starting place. He suffered a badly blackened eye against Mansfield Town and missed the game with Rovers.

However, Dolan indicated before the midweek game that Wise was being rested as a precaution in the hope he would be fit for tomorrow.

Richard Cooper, who has figured in the last two reserve games, has also been added to the squad.

It's win or bust for Scunthorpe as the Iron prepare to welcome City to Glanford Park.

Ninth-placed United must win if they are to have any chance of making the Division Three play-offs - they are currently two points adrift - and manager Brian Laws has indicated his team will go for broke.

United will be denied the services of target man Steve Torpey, who is suspended.

That means a likely recall for on-loan Grimsby Town striker Mike Jeffrey with Laws also contemplating a switch in formation from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3.

The Iron manager was far from happy with his midfield in last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Darlington, replacing Wayne Graves with Gareth Sheldon, who was soon hauled off in place of Lee Hodges.

Danger man Hodges has been struggling with injuries and a loss of form of late and is not guaranteed a place.

However, it is likely Laws will turn to the diminutive dynamo in the hope he can rise to the big occasion.

Hodges could even be pushed forward to join Jeffrey and former York City striker Martin Carruthers in attack with midfielder Matt Sparrow switched from the centre to a wider role.

Former City favourite Nigel Pepper is unlikely to feature.

The midfielder suffered a broken leg at the start of last season and although he has made a handful of substitute appearances this season he has been unable to command a regular place and could be released in the summer.
