INTERNATIONAL orienteers from York-based club Eborienteers will be racing around the streets of York on May 26 when the club hold the second annual York City Trophy.
All who want to have a go at orienteering can go along to register for taking part.
The event, supported by City of York Council, has received lottery funding from Awards For All to ensure all competitors can use the new electronic punching system and that beginners can be offered advice and coaching.
Sponsorship from Yorkshire Cheese By Post means that prizes of £50 are being offered to the winners of men's and women's open events to attract the country's top runners, while £25 will be given to the top juniors and veterans and there will also be prizes for the top running club teams.
The race will start at St George's Field Car Park and competitors will run over the Millennium Bridge during the race.
More information about this and the club itself can be found at www.eborienteers.org.uk
