A SELECTED rest of the league side beat Marston Moor Villages Darts League champions Royal Oak, Tadcaster, 5-4.

John Collins (24), individual champion Simon Jackson and Steve Wragg (22) made it three each in the singles with Kev Lund and Lee Appleyard backing a tremendous doubles-board 114 finish from Gary Stead.

Wragg and Dave Stoakes (78 finish) edged the Lund-Appleyard pairs challenge and James Allan partnered Ian Powell to beat Peter and Chris Scaum and seal the Rest's victory.

Oak were counting upon the match going to the decider. They had a top-notch pair, Stead and Andy Hill at number nine. However, Hill's three tops score and Stead's 80 finish came too late.

Clarence WMC recorded an exciting York White Rose Ladies League division two win at Lord Collingwood.

With the lead bobbing one way then the other Cheryle Fernandez threw an excellent 18 darts to put Clarence within a game of victory, but Jackie Ritchie pulled Collingwood back with 23 darts. Jayne Cain took the decider.

Moira Atkinson rounded off Fulford Conservative's 5-2 win at Deramore with a fine 21 darter, while Catherine Gascoyne (111, 100) shone in Slipper's 5-2 victory over Bowling Club.

In division one, Sun's Sue Scrimshaw shot a 180 score as they went to a 5-2 victory at Six Bells, while Elsie Blackburn consolidated a good Pam Husband performance to give Crescent victory at Railway Institute.

Fulfordgate's 5-2 win at Tap included a splendid 19 darts from Marion Stilgoe. Ann Robinson closed Winning Post's 5-2 success at New York with 24 darts.

Chris Jones put Brown Cow all square at 3-3 with Lord Nelson and Pam Thornton tagged on the decider. Alice Hawthorn needed to pull off the last three to beat Nags Head and Emma Webster, Debbie then Audrey Horner obliged.

Chris Lamb took Crystal Palace's winner at King William.

Ox were in rampant mood scooping all the singles against Tap in York John Smith's Ladies League division one.

Jean Elliott combined with Vicky Arundale to stop the flow, but Ox won 8-1 with Janice Davies and Maggie Tottie in outstanding form.

Roz Kerr (120, 125, 135) was Brigadier's top scorer, while both Carole Layne and Julie Coyle chipped in with two tons each as they swept aside Cygnet 7-2. Cygnet's points were registered by Dawn Exton and Maggie Druett.

Hazel Richardson and Susie Hughes were Dringhouses' only winners against Phoenix 'A' whose Sandra Winters was a double-ton scorer.

Gill Warriner-Jackie Clemit won the decider for Slip against Vaults while Louise Hart was Clifton's only singles success against Half Moon.

Clifton 'A' opened up a six-point gap at the top of division two by beating second-placed Leeman 'B' 5-4, Madge Landsbury-Jan Wilberham sealing the win.

Slipper are one point behind Leeman. Mavis Barker partnered Sue Tate to secure a 5-4 victory at Jubilee.

Severus' Carol Robson-Mavis Gallimore set up the decider but Margaret Davis combined with Jenny Barron to win the match for Burton WMC.

Britannia 'B' won five on the trot after Heather Green had secured the opener for Shepherd 'B' while Shepherd 'A' recovered to win after Maggie Jenkinson and Sally Swales put Britannia 'A' out in front.

Unbeaten Cue Ball lead division three with Yvette Shepherd winning Ackhorne's only singles game.

Holgate and Puss 'B' were neck and neck but big scoring from Anne Smith helped Holgate to a 6-3 win.

Leeman's captain Peggy Rose gave her side a 5-1 lead over Woolpack whose winner was Sybil Chilton.

Sue-Tracy Atkin secured the 5-4 win for Puss 'A' against Leeman 'C', while Mandy Watson-Julie Brownlee won the decider for Mount after Mitre's had drawn level with Carol Pearson-Audrey Seymour.

Tang Hall WMC took a 4-2 advantage into the pairs against Old Ebor, who were well served by Jacquie Pearson (24) and Mo Hearfield. Barbara Ward scored well as Tang Hall went on to win 6-3.
