Seam bowler Andy Caddick took it out on Yorkshire today as he warmed up nicely for next week's first Test match between England and Sri Lanka at Lord's, writes David Warner.
While his England colleague Darren Gough was making his comeback for Yorkshire Seconds at Stamford Bridge, Caddick was causing all sorts of problems at Taunton after Somerset had won the toss and put the county champions in to bat.
In helpful conditions, Caddick captured the prize wickets of Michael Vaughan and Darren Lehmann in his opening spell of nine overs and with Craig White also going early on, Yorkshire found themselves up against it.
Fortunately, Michael Lumb looked in excellent form and he galloped to his 50 off 62 balls to take Yorkshire into three figures in the 26th over.
White and Vaughan opened for Yorkshire but Vaughan had managed only one scoring shot when he edged a ball from Caddick to Keith Dutch.
White did not last much longer. In shaping to play Matt Bulbeck through mid-wicket he lost his leg stump to a full delivery which moved across him.
Lehmann came in to hammer both bowlers to the boundary, but he too was undone by Caddick's movement and trapped lbw on the backfoot.
