MANOR School needed a penalty shoot-out to finally see-off Tadcaster Grammar in the first-ever York St John's College U12 League Cup final.
The game had finished at 3-3 after extra time, but Manor kept their cool to eventually lift the trophy thanks to a 4-3 penalty shoot-out success.
Joe Hinds (2) and Nicholas Moss had netted for Manor, only for Josh Tinker, Andrew Buchan and Christopher Lockwood to score and keep Tad in the match. However despite leading 2-1 in the shoot-out Manor came back to snatch the trophy.
Meanwhile the York Primary Cup Football Competition has a serious backlog of fixtures.
Matches that must be played immediately are -
Round Two: St Aelred's v Rbt Wilkinson.
Quarter Finals: St Aelred's/Robert Wilkinson v Dringhouses; Westfield v Wigginton.
Woodthorpe and Clifton Green have already reached the semi-finals and both are waiting for the results of outstanding matches. It is hoped that the Primary Cup final can be played by mid-May.
