HENRY Cecil, who has had little to celebrate so far this season, can see an upturn in his fortunes at Nottingham tomorrow, courtesy of a previously unraced filly.

Java makes her eagerly awaited debut in division one of the Trent Maiden Fillies' Stakes and this highly regarded three-year-old is fancied to score under Richard Quinn.

Java's homework on the Newmarket gallops has been nothing short of impressive and it is hoped in the Cecil camp that she can prove herself good enough to tackle Group-race company later this season.

A winning start to her career is anticipated tomorrow.

At Carlisle, Cumbrian Venture is napped to land the opening Viacom Outdoor Maiden Stakes.

Tim Easterby's two year old shaped with promise when staying on well into fifth place on his debut at Doncaster in March.

That experience should stand him in excellent stead, tomorrow and he is napped to score in the hands of Robert Winston.
