REGARDING 'Park chief's fury at MOD' (Evening Press, May 6), you have to wonder sometimes...

September 11 comes along, the whole world waits with bated breath in fear of more catastrophes while security forces around the globe take action to mitigate potential terrorist attacks.

America, Britain and other allies put themselves on a war footing, taking appropriate measures in support of this action.

"Hold on!" says English Nature "you can't possibly build a security road at Fylingdales without planning permission. There're forms to be filled in and committees to be consulted before you do anything so reckless."

It's comforting to know Mrs Dilcock has our best interests at heart. It's obviously much more important to have the right road material than quick action to improve our security and response capability.
