FIVE people were taken to hospital after a head-on collision on the A64 between Malton and York.
The crash happened shortly after 11am on Saturday, at the Scotchman Lane junction, near Flaxton.
Police, fire crews and paramedics attended the incident, although no one was seriously hurt.
The 39-year-old driver of a VW Golf, from Flaxton, received slight injuries.
A five-year-old girl travelling with the man was also taken to York District Hospital with facial injuries, along with one other passenger who was slightly hurt.
An elderly couple from Barnsley, travelling in a Citroen Saxo, suffered whiplash injuries and other slight injuries.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said the road was blocked by the accident, although no diversions were put in place while the road was cleared.
