FOLLOWING the recent crop of tragic accidents involving motorcyclists, I hope that you will quietly drop your "Arrive Alive" campaign. While all deaths on the roads are avoidable it seems that your campaign aims to shift the focus and blame away from motorcyclists and onto other road users. The motorbike traffic policeman quoted in the Evening Press stated that most motorbike accidents were not the sole fault of the motorcyclists themselves.

Yet over two weekends we have seen two riders die as they collided with each other, and other fatal accidents involving motorcyclists.

The bike riding fraternity would attract more sympathy if they were able to demonstrate safe riding techniques themselves rather than trying to overtake every vehicle that dares to obey national speed limits.

I recently followed two Dutch motorcyclists up the A59 and their road manners were impeccable, keeping a safe distance between each other and other vehicles, only overtaking where they had a good view of the road ahead and sticking to the speed limits.

If foreigners can do it why can't British riders?
