VANDERLIN, denied a hat-trick of wins at Lingfield recently, can get back on the winning trail at Goodwood tomorrow.

Ian Balding's talented three-year-old tackles the £40,000 goodwood.co.uk Showcase Handicap over seven furlongs and is fancied to take all the beating.

Vanderlin lost nothing in defeat at Lingfield, where he was beaten one and a half lengths into second place by the high class Feet So Fast.

That race was over six furlongs and the way Vanderlin was staying on at the end suggestes that tomorrow's extra distance will suit him even better.

Badling also introduces an interesting two-year-old in the shape of Western Fling, who goes for the EBF Marriott Hotels Maiden Stakes.

Kieren Fallon's mount is apparently well regarded and a market move in his favour should not be overlooked.

The £35,000 Victor Chandler Lupe Stakes takes pride of place on the Goodwood programme and Cozy Maria, a winner at Ripon last month, could be up to the task.

John Gosden's filly comfortably justified favouritism on her latest start and looks a smart three-year-old in the making. Jimmy Fortune has the mount.

Ian Semple is a man going places and the Lanarkshire trainer, on the mark with Lion's Domane at Musselburgh last night, sends Yenaled to Sussex for the Drayton Handicap.

Semple has enjoyed sizeable successes at Newmarket and York in recent weeks with Kelburne and Chookie Heiton and Nap selection Yenaled is thought capable of making his presence felt in this one-mile event. Robert Winston takes the mount on this hold-up performer.

Geoff Wragg has his horses in good form and the Newmarket trainer saddles Torcello in the Chicester Festival Theatre Conditions Stakes.

Darryll Holland's mount looked in need of his first run of the season at Ripon last month, when he finished third to Darasim. He is fancied to leave that form well behind tomorrow.

Marsad, who bounced back to winning form at Newmarket recently, can oblige again in the Fairclough Homes Handicap, which opens the Goodwood programme.

Marsad has top weight of 10 stone to carry, but John Akehurst's eight-year-old is a very capable sprinter at his best. Paul Doe again has the mount.
