A BLOWFLY strike has been reported in the Malton area by Laycocks Animal Health base in Malton.
The strike late last month is said to be the first this season in the area.
Novartis Animal Health is urging sheep farmers in North Yorkshire to be on the alert and to treat their sheep now to prevent further strikes.
More information is available on web site www.ectoparasite.net or the Novartis Animal Health Freephone (0800) 801566 for a free blowfly fact pack.
