MALTON'S Golden Jubilee celebrations are so low key they look set to fall off the register.
The town originally wanted to make a big noise for Her Majesty by building a bandstand. These plans were then downsized. Fifty glorious years would be commemorated with 13 hanging baskets, civic leaders decided.
Alas, this too is set to be a blooming disappointment. The brackets to hold the baskets are not ready. It is a floral farce.
To save face, the council should get down the garden centre sharpish.
