Dominic Bannister, of Shaftesbury Harrier, won the 25th annual Thirsk '10' Road Race. His time was 50min 12sec. Banninster is set to race for England at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in July.

Second was Andrew Shearman (Kingston upon Hull) in 52-22.

Peter Wragg was the first Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers' runner to finish. He was 15th, in 58-43, and was second in the M40 age group.

Knavesmire Harrier won the Men's Team event, with Horsforth second, Burn Road third and Thirsk and Sowerby fourth.

The Ladies Team event was won by Knavesmire Harriers. Horsforth were second, Knavesmire 'B' third and Thirsk and Sowerby fifth.

Ian Thompson (New Marske Harriers) won the wheelchair event in 43min 58sec. There were nine competitors. The first women to finish was Tanni Grey Thompson (New Marske Harriers) in 49055.

There were 102 in the five kilometres fun run won by Philip Fitzpatrick (Richmond and Zetland) in 14-51. Neil Mechie, in seventh place, was the first Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers runner to finish. William Hayward was 12th and Rebecca Mechie, running with a pot on her arm, did well in the F11 group. The other Thirsk and Sowerby runner was Angela Hudson.
