YORK RUFC juniors will be hoping for a day of double delight when they head to Twickenham on Sunday.

The boys from the Under-10s and Under-12s are at the home of English rugby for the semi-finals and, hopefully, the finals of the prestigious Prudential Cup.

And the talented tyros, who will travel tomorrow morning, can't wait for the action to get started.

David Nicholson, representative of the Youth Section, said: "Everyone is very much looking forward to it.

"I think that in all the excitement of actually getting there it is easy to lose sight of a major achievement this is to get two teams to Twickenham.

"We did have the Under-11s there last year - but this time we will have both Under-10s and Under-12s.

"This is not about luck, it has been about a lot of hard work in training and from the coaches and some good hard rugby. It has not been easy for either side."

The Clifton Parkers will not be short of support with a large contingent of travelling support from the club set to give them their vocal backing.

The competition will be played as a warm-up to the annual England v Barbarians fixture, with the semi-finals taking place early on Sunday morning and the final scheduled for early afternoon.

The U-10s will first play Old Fullerians in the semi-final and if successful they will then face Bath - their 15-0 conquerors in the final qualifying section - or Old Northamptonians.

The U12s open their push against Market Bosworth, with Old Fullerians or Cobham awaiting in the final.
