SCHOOLS in York will be scrumming down tomorrow in their ten-a-side curtain raiser to the York Golden Jubilee Rugby League Festival at Heworth on Monday, June 3.
The youngsters will be cheered on by a special guest - Julie Cronin from York who is an ex-GB Ladies international. She is turning out to support tomorrow's Marston Moor Cup tournament which is being staged just over a week before the official international event for adult teams at the Elm Park Way ground.
A unique squad - backed by the Commission for Racial Equality and Sport England and featuring players from South Asian communities across West Yorkshire - will be playing in the Jubilee tournament on Bank Holiday Monday, June 3.
The ground-breaking South Asia Bulls team has been formed by league enthusiasts to challenge racism and to encourage and develop interest in the sport within the region's ethnic communities.
