PAUL Gascoigne's agent, Ian Elliott, today squashed growing speculation linking the former England international with a move to York City.
The rumours were prompted by chairman John Batchelor's promise of a big-name joining the club on Monday.
"As far as I am concerned, it is nonsense. I have not heard anything at all from York," said Elliott.
Gascoigne spent the end of last season with Burnley, but parted company with the Turf Moor outfit after they narrowly missed out on the play-offs, and looks likely to pursue a career abroad.
