Stamford Bridge recorded their fifth win of the season when they beat Clifton Alliance and lead division two of Hunters the Estate Agent York and District Senior League by 44 points.

Clifton Alliance are at the foot of the division.

Overseas star Stuart Boyle was Bridge's top scorer with 77 but was almost matched by teenager Dave Chaplin, who made 76. Phil Hill added 26 as Stamford reached 206 for five. Alistair Wray took three for 29.

Clifton were dismissed for 113, Paul Walton (63) being their top scorer. Boyle took three for three for 36.

Hornsea's Paul Clappison showed some of his form of last season when he hit an unbeaten 118 to set up an advantage draw for his side over second-placed Tadcaster Magnet.

Doug Griebenhouw added 55 and Richard Medforth rattled up 48 as Hornsea made 245 for four as Paul Downey's run of five or more wickets per game ended.

Medforth then took five for 23 but Tyrone Naude made 34 before David Lord (35 not out) used his experience to steer Magnet to a draw at 168 for six.

Rupert Scales scored 116 to help Harrogate make 220 for four against Bridlington. Scales had good support from Tom Durrance (40) and Chris Kippax (35).

Bridlington's Barry Rudd followed his ton of the previous week with an unbeaten 100 to steer Bridlington to a draw at 190 for six.

League newcomers Studley Royal are mounting a serious bid to gain promotion in their first year. Their third win, by 59 runs at Bubwith, has elevated the Nidderdale side to third place. Batting first, Royal totalled 197 for nine with Clive Swiers making 71, Andy Mackle 38 and Peter Orton 26. Charlie Cameron took four for 55 but then Mark Peacock turned the match with six for 50. John Waterhouse made 44 and Dave Smith 26 in Bubwith's 138 all out.

Scarborough skipper Mark Welford cracked 115 and Dave Morris made 73 as the Seasiders totalled 235 for six at Castleford. Chris Jackson replied with 48 but Philip Seed took three for 32 as Castleford crumbled to 127 all out.

Wilberfoss' batting failed badly at Malton, only Ian Clish (35) withstanding the bowling of Steve Oldfield, who took five for 21 to dismiss the visitors for 108. Aussie Ben Nicholson then provided a cameo 40 as Malton won by seven wickets.
