Thorp Arch & Boston Spa beat a strong Malton & Old Malton side by six wickets in division five of Hunters the Estate Agent York and District Senior League.

Malton's John Foxton made his second successive half century, reaching 71 before he was run out.

After Malton were dismissed for 170, the Boston Spa side's reply centred around Mike Cole (41) and James Turner (32 not out).

Rowntree found themselves taking first knock on a rain-affected track at Tadcaster Magnet and the batsmen struggled against variable bounce, but a solid 47 from Andrew Main and a quick 32 not out by Duncan Robertson boosted Rowntree to 169 for seven.

Rich Cattle (28) showed good form for Tadcaster before he was second out at 50. After his departure, Dominic Atkinson (six for 31) sliced through the home batting as they slipped to 80 for seven.

A rain shower offered temporary reprieve but Tony Edwards (four for 23) quickly cleared up the tail after a short delay and Magnet were dismissed for 82.

Sessay suffered their first defeat of the season, losing at Carlton Towers.

Carlton's 166 all out was based on a second wicket stand of 69 between Martin Denby (41) and Kevin Waites (45). Lee Hanson, newly recruited from Knaresbrough, made 33.

Keith Till took four for 52 and then scored 26, but Waites took five for 12 in 16 overs, including 11 maidens, and Jonathon Dilks pouched three catches behind the wicket as Sessay were dismissed for 80.

Bolton Percy II gained their first win of the season, beating Pocklington. Stuart Rogerson made an unbeaten 45 to help Bolton to 144 for nine despite Dave Gamble's four for 30.

Dale Sanders (four for 12) and Peter Atkinson (four for 30) then had Pocklington all out for 99, Gamble hitting a defiant 49 not out.

Thirsk's Simon Barton scored an undefeated 117 in the winning draw with Selby II. Thirsk got the full quota of batting points at 207 for six.

Ian Lake led the reply with 55 but Andrew Styles (four for 57) helped restrict Selby to 167 for five.
