Yorkshire left-arm paceman Ryan Sidebottom returns to the side tomorrow in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy third round tie with Minor Counties' outfit Devon at Exmouth.

And although Harrogate-born batsman Vic Craven, now with Bradford League club, Pudsey Congs, is expected to be named 12th man for the match, he is all set to play for Yorkshire in their Championship game against Leicestershire, starting at Grace Road on Friday.

Sidebottom has now recovered from the back strain which he picked up at Canterbury ten days' ago and he will be looking to add some firepower to the Yorkshire attack.

Devon's regular captain is former Somerset batsman Peter Roebuck - but he has decided to stand down from the encounter.

"I have played against Yorkshire many times in the past and would not like to deprive a younger player of his chance," he said.

Yorkshire and England off-spinner Richard Dawson is anxious to turn in a good performance against Devon, for whom he played regularly while at Exeter University.

"We taught him a lot of his bowling skills when he was down here and I had half a mind to ask Yorkshire if he could turn out for us," quipped Roebuck.

Yorkshire have taken on Devon twice previously in the competition when it was the NatWest Trophy and after scraping home by four wickets at Exmouth in 1994 they had an easy ten wicket victory on the ground four years' later.

Yorkshire will definitely be without Michael Vaughan, who will be playing in the second Test at Edgbaston, but if Matthew Hoggard is left out by England he will travel on to Grace Road.
