AFTER the third round of fixtures in the Pilmoor Evening Cricket League, Sessay and Sheriff Hutton Bridge still have maximum points in the first division.

Sessay kept their running going with a seven-wicket win over Tollerton.

Dan Copeland and Gary Duckwith each made 26 for Tollerton as they reached 97-7, Steve Frare (2-10) had the best return for Sessay.

Matthew Till (44) and Tommy Kay (43) were then largely responsible for taking Sessay to a well paced win at 98-3.

Nick Scaling (43) was Sheriff Hutton Bridge's top scorer as they beat Huby by 22 runs.

Bridge totalled 100-6 at Huby. Dan Grainger (2-19) and Gary Whitwell (3-35) were the pick of the home bowlers, but Huby's reply fell short at 78-4 with Tom Piercy making 30 and Steven Piercy an unbeaten 28. Duncan Snell took 3-26.

Crayke recorded their second win of the campaign when they had a comfortable 50-run victory over Alne.

Mark Hutchinson (66no) was primarily responsible for them reaching 106-5, despite Toby Stirk claiming 3-6 for Alne.

Ian Pocklington then took 2-17 as Alne's reply struggled to 56-9.

There was a close game at Thirsk where visitors Easingwold won by one run.

Paul Skilbeck (30), Adrian Leckenby (28) and Alan Robinson (24no) all scored well as Easingwold reached 105-5.

Richard Bentley took 2-24 and then made 27 and Shaun Holmes 20 as Thirsk replied but they seemed to have been well pegged back by Alan Robinson's 3-15. John Cook launched a valiant attempt to rescue the game for Thirsk with 18 runs from the last four balls, but he had been left with just too much to do and Thirsk closed on 104-6.

Stillington remain at the top of the second division after a 30-run win over under-strength Rowntree.

Gripton made 23 as Stillington reached 79-9, Dominic Atkinson taking 4-24 for Rowntree.

Newburgh remain in early contention after a comfortable win at Raskelf.

Raskelf were never seriously in the hunt and they were all out for 57, J Knowles top scoring with 19. For Newburgh, Dan Jacques took 3-19 and M Midgeley 2-6.
