JUNIOR rambler Tom Carrington has become the youngest person to march out for St Leonard's Hospice.
Six-year-old Tom, from Ashbourne Way, Woodthorpe, York, strolled 20 miles in the charity's annual sponsored walk.
He joined his grandmother, Shirley Price, 50, and her partner, Rick Adams, 57, on the event held in Haworth, West Yorkshire.
Rick said: "Tom had no problems at all with the walk, and he enjoyed being centre of attention with the other walkers who all encouraged him along the way.
"This was the longest walk he's done, and we're very proud of him."
Rick and Shirley have taken part in the walk for the past seven years.
The trio raised £150.
Hospice fundraising manager Janet Morley said: "Tom was one of the highlights of this year's Challenge Walk, and his determination was an inspiration to everyone who took part."
