THE end of the rugby union season may only be a few weeks old, but already York have their sights firmly set on their 2002/3 campaign.

Plans for the pre-season training are well under way with director of rugby Andy Gair putting in place a structure to build on the developments of the past year.

But first the Clifton Park club will begin off-season training at Archbishop Holgate's School, where recreational conditioning has been arranged through Matt Halifax which will include various games, swimming and the SAQ training programme.

If players from other clubs wish to experience the SAQ training system by attending the sessions they should first contact Gair on 07712 793081.

Players interested in joining York for next season can also contact Gair to discuss the opportunities available.

Meanwhile, the club's Under-19s Colts are also looking forward to the coming season having kept their young squad together, and with the assistance of senior coaching input will be looking to develop further.

Players interested in playing for the U19 squad must be aged over 16 and under 19 on September 1, 2002 to qualify.
