Excellent swims by three New Earswick club competitors at Retford Swimming Club's Graded Open Meet in the Ponds Forge International Pool, Sheffield, yielded two trophies, four place medals and two speeding tickets.
The best result for 13-year-old Emily Broadbent was a second-place trophy in the 100m backstroke and three fourth-place medals -- in the 200m freestyle, 100m individual medley and 100m breastroke,with three personal best times.
Andrew Clapham, competing in the 13 years age group, swam a personal best time in the 100m breaststroke to earn a speeding ticket, and a 4 seconds personal best time in the 200m freestyle culminated in a third-place trophy, followed by a fifth place medal in the 50m butterfly race.
Stephanie Gould, age 12, had an excellent swim in the 100m backstroke, slicing eight seconds from her personal best time to take her just outside the grade time allowed and give her a speeding ticket.
Three further personal best times on the day included a 9 seconds improvement on her 100m breastroke time.
