YORK enjoyed a 80-28 victory over Tadcaster in division one of the Fulford Ladies Invitation League to make it seven straight wins.

Wendy Stirke and Louise Lister showed they are the top two players in the league winning 31 games.

Lorraine Pearey and Jane Firn had a 7-5 win for Tadcaster.

Fulford were on the right side of a close 55-53 win at home to Dunnington.

Di Ekers and Jill McCreedy were the only couple to win all their three rubbers. Ekers and McCreedy won 10-2 10-2 8-4 to help their team go second behind York.

Bubwith visited Castlegarth and a good team effort paid off with all three couples winning 21 games or more in a 65-43 victory.

Poppleton's Sue Peach and Rosie Cantrell were unbeaten picking up 27 games in their 62-46 win over Wheldrake.

Selby slip away from the top of division two, losing to Bishopthorpe 69-39. Sue Yoward and Chris Smith were in sparkling form, winning 9-3 11-1 9-3.

Civil Service stay top after beating Cliffe. Wendy Cook and Jackie Ritchie top scored with 30 games including a 12-0.

Rowntree Park had their first win at Knaresborough. Sandra Pauw and Brenda Gallagher were unbeaten with 22 hard fought games in a 56-52 victory.

York had a 57-51 win against Rowntree Park but they lost 73-38 to Knaresborough. York could only manage two couples.

Riccall beat leaders Copmanthorpe 73-35 in division three. Another injury in this match made a little difference to the overall score but the win puts Riccall second place on games difference over New Earswick.

Earswick beat Poppleton, who played a player that had already played three times in division one.

Cawood picked up their first win of the season, beating Tollerton 63-45. Lesley Savage and Ann Talbot finished their last rubber in style with a 10-2 to give them the top score winning 25 games.

Sutton-upon-Derwent beat leaders Wigginton in division four, to move into joint-second but with a game in hand over Wistow, who proved too strong for Strensall winning 95-13.

Pocklington beat Fulford 62-46. Rachel Hill and Joan Billington had three good wins collecting 27 games. Pam Mason and Jean Haw were top scorers for Fulford winning 19 games.

Three teams are chasing table -toppers Castlegarth in division five after the leaders beat Copmanthorpe 70-38.

Denise Nolan and Debbie Vines won 11-1 7-5 11-1 to help keep Castlegarth's unbeaten run at the top but Heworth, Dunnington and Poppleton are all just two points behind the leaders.

Dunnington beat Knaresborough 71-37. Liz Stacey and Barbara Plummer had three 8-4 wins.

Heworth had wins against Selby and Poppleton. Helen Larkin and Louise Haritakis were top scorers in both matches for Heworth.
