CONSIGNIA, aka the Royal Mail, plan to scrap scrapping the second post in 14 postcode areas across the country. The lucky people in these areas will have the opportunity to pay £14 per week to have their post delivered by 9am, the non-payers having to wait until "before noon". This sounds like a second post to me!
Here in Haxby, and I suspect in many more areas, the second post disappeared many years ago, but we do usually get our post by noon. I wonder if we will be offered this same opportunity to pay for a "first post"?
I wonder if Consignia can explain this double talk?
