THORP Arch & Boston Spa, who started the day one point behind division five leaders Tadcaster, slipped up badly by losing at Pocklington.

Ted Donkin (55), Chris Forsdyke (34) and Tim Creaser (28) helped Pock post 183-5.

Superb bowling by Forsdyke (4-8) and Michael Harrison (4-5) saw TABS dismissed for just 73. Andy Hawkswell's 31 added a hint of respectability.

Tadcaster's steadily improving season continued with their second successive victory, this time at the expense of Sessay.

Tadcaster reached 198, with Richard Cattle (42), Richard Taylor (31) and Bobby Collins (25) providing half of their side's runs, while Ian Watkinson (4-66) and Mike Shuttleworth (6-70) led the wicket-taking.

The same double act then made the only worthwhile contributions in the Sessay reply, with 25 and 27 respectively, as Kev Wakefield (4-48) and John Reynolds (4-11) left their hosts reeling on 104 all out.

Malton & Old Malton left it late to secure victory at home over Carlton Towers.

Jonathan Tildsley took 4-38 to help restrict Towers to 128 all out, of which Lee Graves made 25.

The bowling attack of Simon Boddye and Kevin Waites, who took four wickets apiece, made Malton work hard to reach their target - but they made it with one wicket and one ball to spare as James Foxton held out at the end with 36.

Selby and Rowntrees started the day on the same number of points as each other, but it was Selby who moved clear.

Richard Firth (45) and Jeff Knight (34) shared half of Selby's total of 160-7, while Dominic Atkinson took 4-56.

Selby's Jeff Romans (4-33) helped to ensure that Rowntrees finished the game still 26 runs in arrears, albeit with four wickets still in hand. Alan Roberts made 55 and Keith Dales 39.

Bolton Percy made it ten lost tosses out of 11 but went on to surprise themselves by making their highest score of the season.

John White (27) and John Lawrenson (25no) were the best of the batting in their 151-7 made against fellow strugglers Thirsk.

The Percy bowlers were unable to capitalise on the total as the Racecourse side went on to a seven-wicket victory.
