THE work of international gardener and flower arranger George Smith is to feature on a special summer edition of the BBC's Gardeners' World programme.

George has developed a stunning garden at his home at the Manor House, Heslington, former home of Lord and Lady Deramore, which he opens up for public visits by appointment every summer.

He is also known for his lectures, demonstrations, books and international judging duties.

He has made several appearances on television, including some on Gardener's World, and this time he was visited by presenter Rachel de Thame and her crew.

She was filming for a special summer edition of the programme on the theme The Secret Of Your Success, which looks at his career.

George said: "She was a very charming and lovely lady."

The programme is to be screened at 8pm on July 25 on BBC2 at 8pm.
